Ghost-Writing to Make Online Money
There are ways and ways of making money writing articles on the Net. One of these ways is to do ghostwriting. So what exactly is ghost writing? A ghostwriter is a professional writer who writes articles for clients on demand. However, he does not get a byline for his writings, but the client who buys his work takes the credit for it.

If you run a Google search for ghostwriters or ghostwriting projects, you’ll find pages and pages of projects and people. No wonder the price some clients pay for an article or a batch of them is sometimes abysmally low. However, if you are a good writer, more often than not, you can quote your price and get it too! Often, however, the ghostwriter for all his or her competence loses out in the price market as few ghostwriters have good business sense.
As a ghostwriter, you will often take up projects that are easy to do and you get your quoted or agreed price equally easily, but there may be times when your articles need a lot of work done. At times, they may also need the inputs of an expert and then the price for such pieces goes up. These may be academic pieces or very high tech stuff, but for articles that any high school student or even graduate can write, there are a lot of online opportunities to write.
Subjects commonly advertised are health, fitness, pets, finance, law, dating, relationships, food, diet and vacations. If you are keen to be a part-time or full-time ghostwriter, check out as many sites as you can, such as: elance.com, guru.com, getafreelancer.com, rentacoder.com, among many others.
Once you bid on projects at any or some of these sites, win them and do them to the best of your ability, it’s time to get paid. But that’s not all: you also need to get testimonials from your clients, depending on their satisfaction levels. Often, clients will give a good testimonial, but beware of the client who gets good work and gives a bad testimonial! This testimonial is important for you as other clients will see your experience level and offer you similar or bigger projects.
Another thing you need to bear in mind is that as a ghostwriter, a project becomes feasible for you if there are volumes. That is, you make good money if you are asked to write 10 articles or 20 or more, because in volumes there’s money. So, look out for such projects.
As you grow in experience, you can raise your prices. This might shut certain clients’ doors on you as they have set prices, but there will always be someone else to work for. Do this by email, a phone call or while taking on a project. If they refuse, ask yourself how important this project is to you. If you feel there are others to work for, go out and look for such ghostwriting projects. If you’ve been writing for $10 an article, but know you can get more, look out for such projects. There are some ghostwriters who get paid obscene amounts, sometimes it’s double of what you’ve been getting, sometimes triple. So, if you’re good, go for it.
