you all probably read my post about the exciting news - Chitika Beating Adsense last month. This month, Chitika is not doing so great. It is still performing better than any other ad service (except adsense) but now the income is about 1/3 of google adsense.

Lets take some imaginary numbers.
Say my sites has been earning 1 USD a day. I am using Google Adsense. My Clicks are 50 on average. So, my Pay Per Click in Google is only 2 cents on average. If I am lucky I get 3 cents avaerage. Very rarely the average pay for click go above 5 cents per click in Google Adsense. When it does I earn 2.5 USD based on my 50 click statistics!
Now I started using Chitika Mini Malls beginning of last month.
My Chitika earning remained close to what I used to earn from google in first 15-20 days of my experimentation.So, I have been earning the imaginary earning 1 USD from chitika. But there was a great difference in statistics.
I used to have 5 times more number of clics in Google Adsense with 1 USD of income. With Chitika my clicks were 5 times less with the same 1 USD amount of income. So, I realized,
I am also extremely happy with their payment structure. You can also choose the most effective and easy payment via Pay Pal while Google Adsense is a big hassle for publishers in many non-US countries.
NOTE: If you have a AUTO/Insurence/Medical/Law website your Google Income may be very good. All my sites are NON_US based. They mostly contain occational news and events from a small portion of the world - Calcutta. Google Adsense is just not good enough for general sites like I have. Chitika is definitely the BEST choice you have. And surely it is doing wonderfully at my sites.

Ads For Indians
This article features some of the most important and best revenue options if you can not use Google Adsense or YPN and you have a site targeted to an Indian Audience. Before we start let us ask some questions.
Even if you you site is not targeted to an Indian audience, you will still learn some because I am going to touch some other Ad Revenue options briefly.
First of all, there may be people angry with adsense, but ADSENSE is still the best ad revenue service existing today. They simply do NOT have any competitor. Yahoo Publishers Network may be the next best choice but they are in Beta Stage while we never heard about when MSN will finally launch their parallel program to adsense.
So, if you are rejected by Adsense, you are in trouble. There are other ad services such as:
I have mentioned only AdBrite and Bidvertiser because they are only two worth mentioning. With bidvertiser you have the nice option to receive your earnings via PAYPAL. However, for most of the websites your Click through rate is really bad so, click per revenue and over all income is way less than google. Biggest reason: none other than adsense got such a huge number of advertisers that mingle nicely with any kind of content.
Your best option here is go for Kontera.
Kontera is really in-line advertising and sometime they show too many ads in one page if you do not control the numbers of ads to be shown in each page, but they are pretty steady and better than Adbrite/Bidvertiser most of the time.
Well Now if you really have a Indian Site, you can have two more options:
Adsforindians are doing business for quite some time. However they pay 2 or 3 rupees per click. While Ads2target is very new and still in Beta Stage but they pay only 1 rupee per click most of the time. CTR for both service is pretty low.
Adsforindians site is heavily advertised using Google Adsense and they show too many Trashy Ads. Ads2target on the other hand looks lot more professional and they have renouned partners such as
as advertiser.
So, I would recommend using both and choose the one that is giving you better revenue. But if you have Google Adsense, DO NOT THINK ABOUT ANYTHING ELSE.
You have more options like Chitika Mall, Amazon, Ebay Partner Network but I have not found any success in my sites targeted for Indian audience. I think Indian people still needs more time before they really start buying stuff online on regular basis.

I prefer to recommend only ONE. It does not mean there are not other tools. You can also try many other open source softwares. I recommend them as they are:
a) Very easy to install.
b) Most of them are usually included in your hosting control panel.
c) Very easy to insert “Google adsense/YPN” or other ad codes
d) All of them got a very good “support forum”

Let me talk little bit more about the video part. PHP-director at present allow you to create as many categories you want and you can post videos from YOUTUBE, GOOGLE VIDEOS or DAILY MOTION. No need to upload your own videos. So, if you spend some time, you can create a good video gallery compatible with your site. It will help you to get traffic and make your site immensely attactive. I am not sure why but I have never seen such a huge drop in my adsense income for a long time. For last 3 days, my adsense income dropped more than 50 percent. I have been trying to figure out the resons behind it. There are few important thing to note:
1. My CTR did not change much (1-1.5%)
2. My No. Of Clicks did not change much (varies within 5%)
3. CPM dropped >70%!!!!
So, It looked like CPM plays a very important factor in your adsense income. So, I did a research over the internet and found that GOOGLE got a “Smart Pricing” technique.

Some SEO GURU recommended to check the various adsense channels for CTR and remove the LOW CTR and low performing ads to inprove the OVERALL CTR of your website. I have some new sites which I have just started like this one and I really have very low traffic as they are brand new. So, I am going to remove my adsense codes from the brand new sites and keep my adsense running in most popular ones.
Let me monitor my income for a week or two and I will let you all know if removal of the “low performing” ads made any difference or not.
As an alternative, I am going to use “ads for Indians” ad network for the pages which are low performing. You can use any other ad agency for the pages you think google ads are not performing very well. You may not earn as good as google adsense but I hope that you will still see a major jump in your adsense income.
I also reduced the no. of ad units from my sites.
